Happy Mother's Day Easel Card

Here is the fabulous card we made in class a couple of weeks ago...I absolutely adore this Tim Holtz Die and will definitely be making more cards in the next couple of weeks with it...my good buddy Carol loaned me her die to make a project...and I just had to have my own...I think it maybe retired because I had a had time finding it...but after driving all over kingdom come...I got one in my hot little hands...Yaaaaaaaah!!!

The card we made was a Easel card...it looks difficult but was quite easy to make and can be made into a multitude of sizes...I love the mixed bunch stamp set so the flowers were added to this project also...the second bird was cut in half so that it would fir into the cage...of course you can do a single bird and it would look just as terrific too...great card project since almost no cutting...everything is cut out with the punches.

Inside there wasn't lots of room so I stamped Happy Mothers Day...and punch it out with my scallop oval...perfect if I can say so myself...Oooops!...I just did...lol.

This is the very easy recipe:

Stamp sets: teeny tiny wishes and mixed bunch.
*****
Card stock: pear pizzazz...rich razzleberry...very vanilla...assorted scraps and cream printer paper.
*****
Inks: pear pizzazz....rich razzleberry...tempting turquoise...and more mustard.
*****
Pen: sakura black glaze.
*****
Punches: 1" and 3/4" circle...1'16" hand held circle...scallop border...blossom...two step bird...jewelry tag...caged bird die...and Poteeka birds folder.
*****
Additional supplies: pink dew drops...snail...stampin dimensionals...glue dots...crystal effects...gold jewelry split jump ring...BIG shot...fiskar and score-it.

Below you can see that I added the split jump ring to the top of the bird cage...it makes the cage looks like it's ready to hang from a hook or tree...it's funny how a change in lighting changes the card...you would think that pic is of a different card...but I later realized that I hadn't taken a pic of the split jump ring...I was too lazy to go back downstairs so I took the pic upstairs...what a big difference...the cage looks like a red/brown...the birds look pink instead of red...and the embossed card background looks gold instead of green.

Thanks so much for stoppin' by this morning and checking out our fabulous class project...we had a great time making it...a big thank you to my stampin' ladies for a great evening as usual...and as I said before you will be seeing more of them as I love this die...enjoy the rest of this beautiful weather we are having this weekend...I hope you are having some of the same...have fun this morning...and I hope you all have a stampin' good time.

Thinking of You

This is a great card we made in class...the one on the right with the lime green ribbon is a card front to be made into whatever I want when I'm ready and add the appropriate sentiment....so a birthday card...a get well card...anything.

This card is an all occasion card...I'm thinking of you lets the recipient know that...but also makes them feel special that a handmade card was made for her...and sent to her....unless I remove the sentiment and add something else to make it a different type of card...not sure yet.

This is the easy recipe:

Stamp sets: triple treat flower and posey punch.
*****
Card stock: Early espresso...and assorted scraps.
*****
Ink: garden green.
*****
Punches: wide oval...5 petal flower...fancy flower...key tag...oval...jewelry tag...and 3/4" circle punch.
*****
Additional supplies: coral calypso and lucky limeade organdy ribbons...lime satin ribbon...ice cream parlor buttons...spring dew drops...acrylic blocks...BIG shot...snail...fiskar...crystal effects...and maraschino bakers twine.

Thanks for droppin' by this morning...I hope you enjoyed the cards...have a great day and a stampin' good time.

Happy Mother's Day From Dennis and Me

Another Mothers Day without our beautiful mom...but she lives in our hearts forever.

My brother and I went down to the cemetery this morning to bring mom some flowers...she always loved pretty flowers..and ribbons.

We  cleaned and polished up her plaque...wow it almost looks brand new again...my brother did an excellent  job...he was asking me for a toothbrush to get into the cracks...as if I had one in my back pocket...lol...mom would have loved all the fuss though...lol.

All the rain had left it pretty dirty and muddy...all cleaned up and nice now.

Not real flowers...some beautiful silks...she would love them any way.

We did a nice job...a big pat on the back of my brother and me.

Thanks for stoppin' by this beautiful morning...A happy mothers day to all  of you...and Happy Mothers day mom...we love and miss you every day.

Happy Birthday 1 and 3

My grand children had birthdays that they're celebrating in Japan this year...and these are the cards I made for them...they were easy and fun to make.

This pretty pink card is for my grand daughter...she turned one years old this year.

This blue card is the one I made for my grandson who turned one years old yesterday.

Both cards used lots of chipboard and stickers to give it all the dimension...I also did layering and used the stampin' dimensionals to raise everything up...I really love how both these cards turned out...there wasn't lots of stamping either...just the Happy Birthday was stamped in the blue and pink inks.

This is the fun and easy recipe:

Stamp set: warmest regards.
*****
Card stock: attic boutique DSP and side notes...Kraft...adhesive borders from KandCompany...journaling die-cuts...and white printed paper.
*****
Ink: pacific point and melon mambo.
*****
Punches: sizzix numbers and uppercase alphabet dies.
*****
Additional supplies: stampin' dimensionals...snail...s/u mini glue dots...big shot...fiskar...and score-it.

Thanks for stoppin' by this absolutely beautiful weekend...enjoy the rest of your morning...and I hope you all have a great weekend and a stampin' good time.

Happy Birthday to my Fabulous Grand Children...your Grammer misses you.
